A fresh set of eyes – why I recently met with an artist consultant

Having recently finished the work for a couple of big, long-term projects (“100 Petite Paper Paintings” and my upcoming solo exhibition, “Luminous Abstractions”), I’d been feeling a bit untethered in my art practice.

I like having a goal to strive for AND I want to keep learning AND I want to make my art bigger and stronger. BUT I felt like I needed a fresh set of eyes on things and some outside guidance as to have to progress towards my goals.

So I scheduled a meeting with a local, well-known and well-respect artist consultant. Someone who knows art, artists and the local (as well as international) art market.

I’ll share more about her and the outcome of our partnership, once I’ve had time to process her suggestions, work through the exercises and tasks she’s prescribed for me AND have decided which of her ideas I’ll be carrying forward in my work.

Suffice it to say that I’m energized and excited about what’s to come. And a fresh new palette (pictured above; note the neutrals šŸ˜‰ ) is just the start!
