Despite my best efforts, the last of the three pai Despite my best efforts, the last of the three paintings that I had hoped to complete before we head out on an extended adventure, remains a work in progress. Apparently, it was not to be rushed 😂 There are so many chaotic shapes and marks that I love. Marks that need some editing and calming and pushing back. It’s never desirable to leave work unfinished before a trip. Who knows where my head and heart will be when I return? And how those new experiences will show up on the canvas. My most recent work has focused on big, wild and o My most recent work has focused on big, wild and open shapes. A natural evolution of the paintings that came before. Here are the last five of those ‘jellybean’ paintings (so named because many of you have described them that way ☺️). I love the way the closed shapes float over one-another, creating a sense of softness and ephemerality. And the way the canvas lets the edges blur just a bit. In order: “Connections” 24 x 36 inches “Beautiful Sunsets Need Cloudy Skies” 11 x 14 inches “Coral Beach” 10 x 10 inches “Grapefruit Moon” 15 x 30 inches “Kelp Forest” 40 x 30 inches All are acrylic on canvas and ready to bring a little whimsy and joy to a new space. I love seeing a body of work hung together on a ga I love seeing a body of work hung together on a gallery wall. Even if it’s just a virtual one! My “wild-HER-ness” series continues to grow. Now numbering 13 (this wall wasn’t big enough for them all, and two have already been acquired by a collector), I’ve enjoyed exploring the themes that tie the work together.
