Big brushes for making big moves on a work-in-prog Big brushes for making big moves on a work-in-progress. An early happy birthday present from me to me 😉Now to remember not to leave them standing in water, above the bristle line, over night…. (RIP to my 4-inch @liquitexofficial flat brush 😱).#wipwednesday #abstractexpressionism #studioshots #canadianartist #portmoodyartist

I think of them as portals; invitations to slow down, look more closely and imagine the world within. I’m excited to be showing 13 of these pieces on June 20th, at the upcoming Port Moody @artshufflepomo Come find me at Venue 9, CityState and CoDesign Studios (2nd floor, 2414 Saint John’s Street, Port Moody).I’ll be sharing some prompts to get viewers thinking about how to experience abstract art. I’d love to see you there!#pomoshuffle #artshufflepomo #portmoodyartist #communityartevent
I have learned that when I don’t know what to do I have learned that when I don’t know what to do the answer is almost always either “something” or “anything”. (This works equally well in life and on the canvas 😉).Movement begets more movement. It’s been almost 6 weeks since I’ve painted something. And for me, the easiest way to start is just to start. A handful of colours, a variety of tools, a good playlist and some non-precious paper. Not expecting to make a masterpiece. Just happy to be back at it. Happy Saturday!#contemporaryart #studioscenes #abstractexpressionism #portmoodyartist #markmaking #myfiveyearoldcoulddothat
