Just last week I reached a big milestone in my 100 ‘Petite Paper Paintings’ project.
I finished painting number 75!
It’s hard to explain how much of a big deal this is. Doing anything seventy-five times takes a lot of commitment, perseverance and (some days), the ability to talk yourself out of completing the task.
But I’ve learned quite a few things about myself as an artist in the process (more on that another day) and am looking forward to completing the last phase of the project.
(At the time of posting this, I only have twenty more to go!).
An extra boost to keep me on track? I found out just this morning that that local artist grant I applied for was approved! I wrote the grant application requesting funds to cover the materials for this project and am thrilled to have been one of three artists chosen to receive funding.
If you live near Port Moody, you’ll be able to see all 100 ‘Petite Paper Paintings’ during the June 14th Art Shuffle. I’ll be displaying them at the Port Moody Legion (with a hands-on opportunity for participants to learn about abstract art).
More details to come, but here’s a gentle nudge to sign up for my email list, as those peeps will be the first to hear AND be privy to an early opportunity to purchase the art in advance of the ‘Shuffle’.
Don’t they look fabulous all together?
